    Part Time Server, Hawthorn

    Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • To welcome our guests into the restaurant with a pleasant greeting, ensuring their experience exceeds their expectations through attentive, personal service.
    • To follow all Restaurant and hotel policies, procedures and service standards, including LQA and Sequence of Service.
    • The ability to learn and execute all table side food preparation (e.g. saucing, carving and finishing).
    • Must maintain detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menus, food and beverage pairings, current promotions and specials and awareness of what vendors provide our food and beverage products to showcase out local-first approach to our guests.
    • Responsible for ensuring food and beverages ordered by the guest are recorded, communicated and served professionally and in a timely manner for assigned tables/guests.
    • Creating heartfelt moments for our guests and ensure no guests leave unhappy through proactive quality checks and addressing any guest feedback immediately.
    • Must maintain the cleanliness and readiness of assigned section(s) in the restaurant at all times.
    • Complete assigned side duties/tasks on a daily basis to ensure all team members are set-up for success.
    • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely.
    • Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and procedures (as outlined by the EHC manual) are followed at all times.
    • Maintain awareness of and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel.
    • Must be available to work a variety of days/shifts, according to business needs and seniority level.
    • Execute all other duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager or their designate.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum of 2 years serving experience in an upscale lounge/ Restaurant environment is required
    • Must be energetic and enthusiastic
    • Must be personable, positive, presentable, and professional
    • Extensive knowledge of cocktails, wine and spirits, WSET or similar certifications is an asset
    • Must possess excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Must have excellent English language skills and be able to speak, read and understand at a professional vocabulary level
    • Must be self-directed and self-motivated
    • Previous bartending experience is an asset
