- Grasp a wide breath of civil engineering facets such as – construction quality control monitoring, instrumentation installation and monitoring, and materials testing
- Attain material testing techniques in a resource-based professional environment
- Gain knowledge from employees with a wealth of industry and Terracon experience
- Acquire the opportunity to be trained and work in a laboratory setting
- Engage in the implementation of safety controls and promotion of safety in the workplace
- Receive samples and perform various lab testing, including CCIL Certified Aggregate, Concrete, and Asphalt while accurately following the ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA Standards procedures
- Calibrate and complete preventative maintenance on lab equipment
- Ensure testing is being performed safely and on time while properly documenting results
- Receive the opportunity to be trained and work on field-based projects
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Environmental Technology diploma program
- Experience in a technical role is considered an asset
- Eager and willing to learn all aspects of the industry
- Flexible and a strong team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to update documentation and maintain information
- Ability to drive a 4x4 vehicle off-road
- Dedication and attention to safety and client site rules and regulations
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract and 2 years of driving experience
- High School Diploma required
- Must be physically able to perform field work as required
- Successfully perform a Fit for Work and Drug and Alcohol test
- Working outdoors in all types of weather
- Schedule often involves 12-hour shifts
