WIND RIVER
(2 BIG SPUDS) (ON NETFLIX)

One of the big time movie people I like the most
is a guy named Taylor Sheridan, who is an actor
turned writer, producer and director and is one
of the fair haired boys of Paramount studios.

Wind River was his second feature as a direc-
tor and writer, after which he began to work
on a series called Yellowstone, which was Kevin
Costner’s first TV project. If you haven't seen it is
well worth checking out.

Wind River stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth
Olsen. He's a tracker who kills wild animals for
the Fish & Game department. She's an FBI agent
sent to investigate the death of a young Native
American girl in the wilds of Wyoming in the
dead of winter.

This is a stark murder mystery with a pretty
powerful backstory attached to it. Jeremy
Renner is especially interesting because this is
not an action hero role, and it pulls it off beauti-
fully.

Wind River is a great movie, and part of my
quest to see everything Taylor Sheridan's done.

Stop and smell the roses

What are you doing that is important is a question I asked myself the other day. Today, as I walked along the river, I heard a cry in the air, I watched as two eagles came together and hovered about 100 feet above me. I watched them as they scanned the river hovering on the wind ...
