Couch Potato Chronicles: Slow Horses

SLOW HORSES (3 Spuds on Apple TV) : 5 | Having found Paramout a | L SLOW disappointment content " HORSES wise, we have moved on to Apple TV+ and first up is Slow Horses, a great British spy series starring Gary Oldman as a custy cold war vet M-5 station chief whose station is where people are sent to do penance for screwing up somehow. Kinda like a spook purgatory. Oldman’s character spcializes in doing nothing until he finds that he is being set up for a fall by his boss. I won't go into any details, of course, because that would spoil things. This series is dark and menacing and extremely clever like most British spy stuff usually is. Mr Oldman is perfect as the wizened old veteran who has seen it all a few times and still has tricks up his sleeve. I've always been a big fan of Brit spy stuff. I think they do it so well because England is such a magnet for badasses from all over the place. I also saw a couple of other series that looked kinda interesting, including Ted Lasso, but a month of Apple TV is money well spent even is it’s just to watch the great Gary Oldman do his thing.
