This post is a follow up to:

Just to re-cap, I highlighted the frustration that many LinkedIn users are facing in trying to get organic reach for their posts. I suggested some strategies that were providing better results for me, shared 8 strategies that were working for James Carbary,聽and encouraged others to try some experiments and report on the results. Here is what I have tried along with the results:

0902004 ¢-

  • Posted a somewhat provocative question & included some sentence paragraphs 1,387 Views in 12 hours

  • Did a short update with 3 sentence or phrase paragraphs 2,451 views in 1 day

  • A short update with sentence paragraphs and a link shared in a comment 471 views in 6 days

  • Update consisting of a list and a link shared in a comment 543 views in 1 week

Other updates that are visible in the original post聽included:

  • An update with a photo and link which a high connection member liked and commented. It's up to 5359 Views
  • Text, a photo and a link 197 Views
  • Image, text and a link which a high connection member had liked and commented Up to 5310

So far, text updates without links have the most reach and by far a "like" and comment by a member with lots of connections is the best way to spread your content. This is the best result achieved so far using this method..... 8268 views.... I posted it early and it got a handful of views. So I deleted it. A member with high connections liked and commented on it and the numbers speak for themselves.

The increased reach is generating website traffic but traffic does not pay the bills. Let's see what happens in coming weeks.

How are your experiments going?

"Because now you must spend time on testing tricks instead of focusing on quality content. " Exactly. It's counterproductive. I am curious so decided to experiment.
I apologize for keyboards gitches....so many lagging these days.

I finished my mornng coffee, i leave to David \ud83d\udc1d Mart\u00edn Alonso. Team building is the key...I am because we are! And younar not alone.......
Do anyone remember that Hiring is a process of elimination, a numbers game, LI is not for SMBs, so build a plan, use like in Aikido the energy of the opposition to your advantage. linkedin users spend 10 minutes daily.mWhat do you want to do with that, you are not their absolute center of interest. What is in you that is wirth for them. Just try the exercise. Once found, communicate only on that, and that only, n any languages, all posssible advertising technique with creative strategies. But dont do that alone.
LinkedIn is very simple concept, put all candidate at one place to simplify hiring managers processs for 10 000+ employees multinational...and its is according to their own stats 47% of the users (remember to apply 23% of relative MAU). Th deception consist at making any other potential candidate that they will find their next big job thru there. Mission accomlished. 430 M regustration for 105 M+ active.
I love Anne \ud83d\udc1d Thornley-Brown, MBA artcle because she showcases what these LI should have at least attempt to test, writing about the benefits and drawbacks, then asked users about their choices.Because now you must spend time on testing tricks instead of focusing on quality content. The focus was transfered to the views grapowth techbiques instead of being creative and stunning with richmedia feature, development of the ribbon menu .....haha 3 buttons...even video insert fails regularily.
Bulld relationships with like minded, share together experiences, try things, but seriously, mwhat is best for you? Tram building and go forward with innovative initiative that have a simple workflow map that anyone can replicate or apply recipes on LI that will work a day and not the others because of developpers without vision thought it would be easier, fester and cheaper to modify for the worst the code without any further consideration of your need.
Life goes on,mwe have to adapt, build some plan to have a more global strategy, independent from a one and only mighty tool. back up contacts, stored in a CRM or excel file.. Keep linkedin cuz u aint in YP. so explore beBee.
Strategic move, budget constrains, or simply coders for coding with no vision of UX and what cloud infrastructures means for workload balancing. Why do you think you have downtimes, Personal Information hacking and mass stealing with huge securiy breaches...LI used to be, and we should be grateful for that, we learned a lot.
The decline aiming at an early obsolescence versus any form of competition is arising, modifications accross the months show a lack of vision for social media UX, this isnwhat hapens when the obsolete Top to Bottom design approach is performed. You see clearly in UI and features the shift to a mobile app developpers only team.

Acurate remark, YP with a mix of WP. my consern is the abscence of users concertation at large scale when they want to attempt a new development. So they even try polls or focus groups? I missed the part were they would conduct users surveys, and then have beta testers.
Newsletter emailing isnway more effective with 30K to 115k views per edition. You have great tools to create one ans get insight and comparatives data. It is more independent from LI tool.

Yes I made a similar comment in part 1 of this series. One should not have to resort to all kinds of experiments to figure out how to show up on a platform. It's ridiculous. I've called out their editors a couple of times too. LinkedIn can be useful for peer-to-peer discussions but that use is declining due to the demise of groups. For business owners, It's pretty much a glorified Yellow Pages to find people to target off-line.
I love these sagas, Anne keep the good posts, and dare and share!
oh btw, users engagement in my book is busines conversion, not views or back and forth comments...which is good but not putting bacon on the table. Keep Linkedin your next hiring manager need tonscreen you, meanwhile explore facebook, pinterest and twitter for business. They are bringing x 3 exposure and 100 x more opportunity. Eant to blog and PR on Goggle : #ExplorebeBee cc Lance \ud83d\udc1d Scoular
As i said, i have a great 1823 searched times profile with portfolio, endorsments 2K+, 900 visits a day 300+ inbox msg daily, 3 to 5 conferences...jobs offers more than i could take. Linkedin is a recruiter tool. I used to write, for training, i even tested a beBee article which outperfomes x100 the average. I need and keep LI for its purpose, assignements, misssions and background check.
The sad, but sad thing with linkedin is that everyone has to do tricks here and there to get views? LinkedIn, what is it goooood for ? Absolutely ....... huh haaaaa, Linkedin In what is it good for? tadaaaa daa daaa...seriously. i will post the stats about lsocial meeia user's time on each platform in USA. You will decide after where to fish...knowing that users engagement means time exposure to contents.

Anne, I try to cross-channel pollinate as much as possible, including on LinkedIn. I have likewise found that sharing blog posts from other sites (like beBee) as an update tends to generate a lot of views and engagement -- especially compared to the pathetic level of engagement by publishing on LinkedIn Pulse.
