    Ulula is a social enterprise that aims to improve working conditions in mining, manufacturing and agribusiness by sourcing and processing accurate and timely insights directly from workers and communities around the world. Our software and analytics platform connects directly and anonymously with our target stakeholders to obtain honest feedback and create more transparent and responsible supply chains. We have projects across the globe including India, China, Malaysia, Peru, South Africa with clients ranging from NGOs to government departments to household name brands.

    About the Role

    We are searching for a hardworking individual who loves numbers, accounting, and analysis to join our finance team as our part-time Accountant.

    Reporting to Sr. Finance and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

    • Supporting the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger, interacting with banks to effect payments and transfers, managing A/P and A/R and supporting our accounting and finance policies and procedures, managing expense reports, as well as supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures.
    • Ensuring all schedules, backup, and other financial files are saved securely, in a well-organized manner in respective Online services or Drives
    • Supporting the closing of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial results, and the reconciliation processes between multiple sub-ledger systems.
    • Managing client-related vendor responsibilities such as ensuring compliance with client requirements and policies, fulfilling supplier due diligence and vendor onboarding needs (e.g. completing vendor applications via online portals of our customers).
    • Other analysis, administrative and ad-hoc work as requested by the Sr. Finance and Operations Manager

    THIS IS YOU

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accountant role, ideally supporting full-cycle accounting and the general ledgers, processing bank wires and other payments, improving accounting controls, and providing support to auditors.
    • Experience in A/P and A/R. High degree of professionalism, active listening, and proactive issue monitoring.
    • You are a problem solver and an analytical thinker.
    • Can easily communicate and collaborate with multiple contacts
    • Able to adhere to deadlines and can multitask on multiple deliverables at once
    • Very good proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite, Advanced in Microsoft Excel skills
