    Description

    We are looking for a driven individual to join the leadership team of Shift Auto Group, a rapidly expanding company with a strong track record, a culture of honesty, and a dedicated team that prioritizes responsibility, efficiency and outstanding customer service.

    In this role, you will oversee all accounting functions across Shift Auto Group's various locations.
    Shift Auto Group is a leading automotive retail company in Atlantic Canada.

    Shift Auto Group's locations include:

    • Seven Used Car Dealerships
    • Five ReCar locations (Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Woodstock in New Brunswick, and Halifax, Nova Scotia) and two St.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about assisting a private company in enhancing its efficiency, profitability, and expansion plans by overseeing a highly efficient accounting team, producing accurate and timely financial reports, and other related accounting tasks. Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team, including recruitment, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.


    • Supervise the overall accounting functions of the team to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy.
    • Organize and lead weekly accounting team meetings to enhance communication within the team.
    • Prepare, evaluate, and present timely financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership team members, including stakeholders and department heads.
    • Collaborate with the CFO to implement and sustain monthly and yearly budgeting processes across all business units.
    • Work with the CFO to monitor cash flow consistently.
    • Oversee the annual financial statement preparation and tax filing procedures for all corporate entities in the group.
    • Enhance internal control processes and procedures, focusing on vehicle and parts inventory.
    • Demonstrated expertise in advanced accounting.
    • Extensive experience in managing cash flow in a cash-intensive business.
    • Proficient in technology, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Suite, and a readiness to learn an automotive dealer management and accounting cloud system. Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI is beneficial.
    • Experience in a growing business with multiple corporate entities is advantageous.
    • Prior experience in automotive retail is a significant plus.
