We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant .This position will provide practice management support to a grouping of Legal Professionals in our Banking and Financial Services Group, assisting them in providing exceptional client service.
As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clerical, administrative and general office duties to meet the needs of the firm and clients.
Document management, including proofreading and editing forms of legal documents such as agreements, letters, memos, presentations, organizational charts and other practice specific documents;Email, phone & calendar management, including liaising with clients, scheduling appointments, arranging conference calls, booking facilities and other meeting requirements i.e.
meals, audio visual equipment etc;Coordinating firm resources including working with support departments and other legal assistants to ensure required actions are completed in a timely and efficient manner;
Providing backup support when other Legal Assistants are absent, at capacity, or dealing with tight deadlines; Legal Assistant diploma or post-secondary degree/diploma in Office Administration
~5+ years related experience, preferably within a legal professional services firm;
~ Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Adobe, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
~ Proficiency in role-specific software including Closing Folders, DocuSign and Visio an asset; Solid written & verbal communication skills, a self-starter with a strong work ethic, and a team player with excellent client service skills
