    Position Summary
    Our laboratory performs immunological studies for Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and laboratory manager, the Research Technician will perform immunological assays to assess the immune response in patients receiving novel treatments. The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Assist in processing samples from clinical collaborators and use them in downstream applications that involve cell isolation, flow cytometry and elispot
  • Compile data, perform data analysis, communicate the results and maintain a well-organized experimental and supply ordering log
  • Perform immunological assays to assess the immune response in patients receiving novel treatments.
  • Be organized and have the ability to carefully follow clinical protocols, including all documentation and training.
  • Assist in tasks (making media, buffers etc.) that keep the lab operating smoothly.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Masters degree in life sciences: Immunology, Biology, Microbiology or experience in a related field [Preferred]
  • 6 Months related experience
  • 1-3 years of experience (inclusive of MSc. degree) [Preferred]
  • Aseptic technique, an understanding of T cell immunology, experience with handling blood samples, running flow cytometry experiments are highly beneficial but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Take initiative and solve administrative problems

    • This position will require the ability to meet time-dependent project milestones. The ideal candidate will enjoy task-focused work, exposure to clinical trials and have the capabilities to manage their own project as well as assist others.
