    Description

    The Employee Relations General Coordinator collaborates with the Employee Relations team, providing expert assistance and overseeing complex case files. This position involves attending meetings as issues escalate with disciplinary actions and helping the team improve efficiency. The Employee Relations General Coordinator focuses on ensuring effective communication within the team and across departments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing a portfolio of case files related to attendance or performance.
    • Monitoring, tracking, investigating, and following up on attendance and performance issues within a specific region.
    • Attending investigative meetings with individuals to address reasons for low attendance and taking necessary steps to enhance overall attendance.
    • Assisting in formal employee disciplinary meetings and grievances to maximize productivity.
    • Conducting or assisting in disciplinary meetings as per the Collective Agreement.
    • Analyzing information to find the best solutions.
    • Developing and maintaining reports on absenteeism, lateness, and performance issues.
    • Measuring and analyzing data regularly to ensure targets are achieved.
    • Creating, analyzing, and sharing operational performance reports and key indicators with senior management.
    • Contributing to the development of long-term strategic plans and operational performance goals.
    • Collaborating with departmental teams to enhance operational performance.
    • Serving as a contact point between different departments.
    • Providing coaching and feedback to improve team performance.
    • Enhancing communication across the organization.
    • Recognizing and appreciating employees' efforts to foster a positive work environment.
    • Ensuring developmental efforts positively impact workplace performance.
    • Empowering and motivating employees for optimal performance.
    • Planning and executing special projects.

    Education

    • Post Secondary education or equivalent work experience.
    • Education in Human Resource Management or related field - an asset.
    • 3-5+ years of Human Resources experience.
    • 1-3+ years of Supervisor or Management experience.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
    • Experience with training, development programs, performance management, and investigations.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Leadership skills, effective communication, and team motivation.
    • Understanding of employment and Human Rights laws.
    • Interpreting and advising on company procedures.
    • Soft skills for effective employee communication.
    • Self-motivation, proficiency in Microsoft Office, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
    • Working in a unionized environment and handling tasks under pressure.
    • Ability to escalate situations, work with minimal supervision, and exchange information efficiently.
