  • Sole artist on a series of 13 educational comics aimed at a younger audience, with over 500 pages created in a 4 year period.
  • Responsibilities included storyboarding, rough layout, illustration, colouring, lettering, and client revisions at each stage.
  • Stylistic adjustments in illustration technique from story to story to suit the tone of each topic
  • Suggested subtle script/action changes to better align with established comic conventions

 

Thinktum Inc.

  • Oversaw the creation and implementation of branding elements, to enhance marketing, pitch and grant application collateral, successfully bringing in both clients and funding
  • Led the design and dev team through two successful website redesigns, working in tandem with the UI/UX, marketing and strategic teams to 1) improve the existing website with updated graphics and copy on an interim basis and 2) institute a complete rebranding and creation of website from the ground up in a 3 month time frame. The latter project included wire-framing in figma, logo, font and colour re-design, and creation of custom iconography, resulting in a more professional website targeted to a tech savvy and professional demographic.
  • Creation of in-house collateral such as fillable forms letterhead, custom zoom backgrounds, and business cards

 

 

Heart and Stroke Canada

Freelance Whiteboard video creation

2019-2022

 

  • Created a series of whiteboard videos for various initiatives, including “Tips for Successful Canvassing”, “How to Take your Blood Pressure”, and a 5 minute “Jump Rope for Heart” walkthrough video.  
  • Responsibilities included storyboarding, character design, scene creation, narration, editing, integrating sound effects and soundtrack.  
  • Co-ordinated with various Heart and Stroke teams to adjust and finalize scripts, approvals of each phase
  • Sourcing, hiring and paying of freelance VoiceOver artists for English and French versions.
  • Videos revised yearly with new information and to include adjustments for Covid safety practices.

 

Canada Protection Plan

Graphic Designer/Video Creator

2019-2021

 

  • B2B and B2C Video creation, including motion graphics, whiteboard and process instructional videos. Videos were used to recruit salespeople, explain the product and benefits, as well as walk new employees/salespeople through the insurance application and approval process.
  • In-house graphic design for social media, print and in-house needs, including iconography, iconography, graphic design and ppt requests. 
  • Pamphlet and brochure creation, including designing 20 page brochure for sales conference vacation package.  Co-ordinated with sales and marketing teams and printer to ensure accuracy and printer specifications.
  • Creation of Powerpoint documents for a variety of  uses, including pitch decks, process decks, partner decks, and internal onboarding procedures.  Responsible for creation of assets used within decks including images, gifs, and embedded videos, as well as programming animation commands and triggers.

 

Augusta University

Whiteboard Video

  • Illustrator, animator and editor for a 45-part video lecture University course, funded by the National Security Agency in the United States
  • Responsible for parsing the information in each lecture and adding engaging, fun, insightful animations that were factually accurate and simplified the information for the viewers
  • Augusta videos were chosen as a standard of production quality expected at National Security Agency conference for other grant recipients
