    About the Opportunity

    This is a full-time IT Specialist role located on-site at our Burlington, ON location. The IT Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day network administration, troubleshooting, and network security. They will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal staff and external clients. and will lead various automation projects within the company.

    Responsibilities

    • 10+ years of experience in Network Administration and Information Technology.
    • At least 10 years of practical experience of networking, networking security (TCP/IP, DNS, proxy, firewall) in medium/enterprise business IT services
    • Proficient in Troubleshooting and Network Security
    • Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst and Small Business Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches.
    • At least 5 years of experience with NGFW FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Sophos OPNsense, pfSense
    • Experience of both Design and Operational aspects with large scale and complicated Active Directory
    • deployments and related infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, AD Sites & Services, GPO's
    • Implementation of email security standards such as DKIM, SPF, and DMARC
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+)
    • Excellent Customer Service skills

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field is preferred.
    • Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, CompTIA's A+, FortiGate, Security, and Linux can be a significant advantage
    • Experience in civil engineering or understanding of engineering processes is considered a plus.
    • Candidates should also have strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Applicants must be able to work legally in Canada and be available to work in our Burlington, ON location.
