    GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

    You will assist the Volunteer Resources Programmer in providing an exceptional experience for our volunteers and their impact on our programs and services.

    You thrive on organizing systems and processes.

    You will assist with various aspects of administrative and backend support crucial to the success of the volunteer program including organize, compile and update volunteer records, update internal database with new applicant information.

    You will also respond to routine verbal and written inquiries from the public. You will review, and update volunteer position descriptions, procedures, and handbooks as required. You will stimulate interest and participation by promoting volunteer roles on targeted databases and utilizing recruitment strategies. You will support planning volunteer training and recognition events as required. You are able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    You are a team player committed to community, courteous and effective with the public, and enjoy working with a diverse group of people.


    ABOUT YOU

    You have sound knowledge of community recreation principles including the general understanding of NVRC programs and services; sound working knowledge of computer systems; and the ability to prepare and maintain reports and records.

    You have strong interpersonal communication skills and are proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Preferred experience working with volunteers or having performed volunteering work.

    A valid Class 5 BC driver's license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.

    All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location.

    All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.


    This is an auxiliary position involving shift work including days, evenings, and weekends for up to 3 days per week from May - September 2024 (dates to be agreed upon), with the opportunity for term to be renewed.

    The pay for this unionized position ranges from $26.18 – $30.70 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
