The Natural Resource Specialist, Contact Centre will provide direct client services for multiple agencies and clients on behalf of FrontCounter BC.

This position supports the FrontCounter BC Contact Centre client service operations and contributes to online database and information tools development and maintenance.

The Natural Resource Specialist provides expertise, technical advice on specific permits and licenses related to the natural resource programs of the client agencies.

Job Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in a natural resource managementrelated field, or a Technical Diploma in a related field and 1year related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in a fastpaced customer service environment
  • Experience providing client service in an adversarial environment

Preference statement(s)

  • Experience in a call centre/contact centre environment
  • Experience analyzing a wide variety of natural resource information
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience managing issues and bringing them to successful resolution within strict performance deadlines
  • Experience working with FrontCounter BC

Provisos /Willingness statement(s)

  • Willingness to keep self informed on current trends and issues through ongoing training, education and participation in team projects
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting at a desk for up to seven hours a day
  • Willingness to assist customers on the phone for up to seven hours a day
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, for varying lengths of time
