    Description
    RioCan is one of Canada's largest Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT). We own, manage and develop retail-focused, increasingly mixed-use properties in Canada's major markets. We pioneered the REIT concept almost 30 years ago and have transformed Canadian real estate.

    Reporting to the VP, Tenant Experience this position is responsible for operational procurement and vendor management in conjunction with the Property Operations team.

    This position will direct and coordinate purchasing activities between suppliers in all areas of Operations nationally.

    The ideal candidate will be able to leverage RioCan's scale, possess excellent negotiation skills and have strong process background and solid budgetary skills.

    Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the purchasing function with the objective of optimizing the total cost of purchases;
    Create and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective and maximize economies of scale;
    Analyze costs from vendors and quotes from potential suppliers to make business decisions;
    Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks;
    Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics such as spend, quality, speed of delivery, etc.;
    Work cooperatively with Operations team to implement consistent policies, procedures, and vendor practices across all RioCan properties;
    Analyze new trends in market and technology and recommend process improvements when appropriate;
    Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for the company without sacrificing quality or delivery times;
    Recommend and implement revenue generating initiatives throughout RioCan's portfolio including ancillary revenue, site activations, and new technology;

    Lead or support special projects and initiatives aimed at optimizing business performance and driving long-term value for the company.

    University Degree in Supply Chain Management or related Business field required;
    Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook;
    Excellent skills and experience in contract and price negotiation;
    Proven experience in real estate or business consulting with a focus on optimization and performance improvement;
    Working knowledge in Yardi is considered an asset.
