GAML Risk and Controls team is responsible for providing risk advice and oversight so that our AML business areas have adequately considered, managed and mitigated the risks in day-to-day activities, operations, products and services, and are operating within risk appetite and aligned to the Enterprise 1B Mandate and Standards.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, GAML Risk and Controls, the Manager, GAML Risk and Controls oversees and leads a highly complex and diverse governance and control function, ensuring an integrated approach with other business governance and control areas, the broader organization and enterprise control functions.
Providing sound, practical, timely advice to the AML business, AML leaders and COE partners to mitigate risk and enhance our risk cultureDeveloping and continuously enhancing the AML Risk Committee report including identifying opportunities to enhance data and analytics to gain deeper insights to allow committee members to make more informed and proactive decisions, while managing the AML Risk Committee including leading the meeting.
Evolving the maturity of the AML 1B program to align and comply with the 1B Mandate and 1B StandardsEvolve AML's Risk Culture
Lead oversight of risk and control activities while supporting the business in their initiative
Manage the oversight of AML change initiatives
Supporting AML to strong under TD's "road to strong" program
Developing and maintaining constructive relationships with control partners and key stakeholders. Responding to control partner requests in a timely and accurate manner
Partnering with US counterparts to evolve AML's risk oversight programs
Leading the AML regulatory compliance management program for AML's primary oversight accountabilities related to risk standards
Operational Risk activities, Regulatory Compliance Risk, Model Risk, Change and Delivery Risk)
Developing and maintaining internal policies/procedures as necessary for areas of responsibility. Representing AML on various enterprise committee's or programs
Supporting TD's enterprise-wide risk strategies and control function requirements
Proven background in risk management, particularly in understanding the development of and implementation of risk initiatives. Experience in the various areas of Operational Risk Management (e.g. KIs, External Event, Third Party, Risk Acceptance, etc.) is an asset.
Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels
Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
Professional Accreditation such as CPA, CA would be an asset
