    Maintenance Lead Hand
    Full time position/ contract
    Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
    Emergencies, evenings, nights as required

    Building and Fire Codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), etc.

    Patrick's Home of Ottawa's policies and procedures and ensure the Mission, Vision and Values, building standards and efficiencies are maintained;
    Work closely with Building Operations staff to ensure seamless building operations;

    Be familiar with all aspects of the building operations systems and equipment such as, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and security, etc.


    Deliver and/or supply:
    audits, cleaning, inspections, labour, painting, preventative maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and testing, etc. Pat's maintains a clean, safe and secure environment that meets or exceeds compliances with legislated requirements;

    Take readings from equipment and or systems such as, the emergency generator, supply-air and water temperatures, pressure readings, etc.

    Maintains an inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
    Continually review Emergency Procedures and Fire Safety Plan, and be prepared to execute your roles for each code.
    Conducts monthly fire and emergency procedures drills;
    Ensure service contracts are enforced, service levels are achieved, and contractors are supervised while on-site;

    Carry out or execute resident, staff and management requests for services, in a timely manner and assist in solving problems as required.

    Respond and assist with seasonal building requirements, including snow clearing, seasonal decorating, landscaping maintenance, etc.
    Maintain and monitor equipment and supply inventories, notify Manager when supplies require replenishment;
    Complete any other related duties, as directed by the Manager, Building Operations or management.
    Certificate/ Diploma/Degree in Building Environmental Systems Operator Class 1, Building Operations, Building Sciences or Stationary Engineer 4th/5th Class or equivalent;
    Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance of a commercial, healthcare or industrial facility;
    maintaining HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and security systems, etc. Demonstrated competencies in reading and interpreting architectural/mechanical/electrical blueprints;
    Demonstrated competencies relating to building systems, emergency procedures, Fire Code maintenance requirements (Ontario Reg. Fluent in English spoken and written;
    High-level communication, customer service and time management skills with abilities to re-prioritize work swiftly in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames;
    Detail oriented, positive attitude and availability to work overtime and respond to emergencies;
