    Your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide legal support to Cboe Global Markets' Canadian subsidiary – Cboe Canada Inc.
  • Work collaboratively with, and provide ongoing guidance, support and legal advice to Canada CLO, senior management and board.
  • Provide primary legal support on Cboe Canada's compliance with applicable securities laws.
  • Play an active role in Cboe Canada's relationships with regulators including, the Ontario Securities Commission, CIRO and other CSA members.
  • Assist with the drafting and maintenance of corporate policies, mandates, procedures and programs related to listed issuers.
  • Assist with the drafting and maintenance of any other documents that may be required.
  • Maintain and supervise an effective framework for listed issuer compliance and regulation.
  • Assist the board of directors and its committees with listed issuer related matters.
  • Research and stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends that may impact Cboe's Canadian subsidiaries or Canadian capital market structure, particularly as it related to public companies.
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with relevant global legal developments and industry trends relevant to public companies.
  • Where appropriate, coordinate Cboe's submission of comment letters to Canadian regulators in respect of proposed rule changes.
  • Other duties that may be assigned in consultation with Cboe's senior management.

    • The ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school in Canada or the United States and current admission to a Canadian provincial bar association.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant securities industry experience, with experience in a multi-jurisdictional setting preferred.
  • Regulatory agency and/or top tier law firm experience a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of the Canadian capital markets and regulatory landscape.
  • Practical problem solver who is self-motivated with a strong degree of initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personalities at all levels within the Cboe organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
