    The City of Port Colborne, located on the south coast of the scenic Niagara region, Niagara's Port of Call has found the perfect balance – successful industrial and commercial sectors, comfortable and scenic residential areas, white sand beaches, unique culinary choices, the world class Sugarloaf Marina, fishing, golfing, trails, shopping districts along the historic Welland Canal – truly a community that adds to the overall Niagara Experience.

    We are looking for a Tourism Marketing Assistant to join our team as a student this summer. The objectives of this position are to assist in the continuous development of Port Colborne's tourism program and the promotion of Niagara's South Coast to consumers within the leisure travel market. The student will be involved in the enhancement of interactive tourism directories and mapping platforms, the evaluation, monitoring and posting of content on websites and social media channels (e.g., blog posts), as well as customer service to all visitors and any information requests they have. The student may be required to contribute to special marketing or promotional projects, should they arise.

    The ideal candidate will have a high school level education or higher, an understanding of digital technologies and social media platforms, as well as experience with operating a camera and photo/video editing or graphic design software. The candidate will be able to work independently, prioritize work, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    This position is a seasonal summer position with an expected start date of June 5, 2023 through to July 31, 2023. Hours of work are Monday to Friday for 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week at an hourly rate of $16.50.
