    Description

    Are you looking for that role that uniquely bridges the gap between cutting edge technology and intellectual property (IP)? Intellectual Property Officer works on complex issues to secure and expand the company's IP portfolio by preparing patent applications and leading prosecution activities through to allowance.

    Analyze IP office correspondence and independently identify the most appropriate strategy to address outstanding issues
    Assess competitor patents and IP to identify potential business opportunities and risks, and share recommendations with the management team
    Bachelor's Degree in an applicable scientific or Engineering field, with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience
    A law degree, with a particular interest in Intellectual Property or progress towards obtaining Patent Agent Certification considered an asset
    In-depth knowledge of the patenting processes to ensure the company's activities align with IP legal requirements
    Extensive experience drafting patent applications and replying to IP office correspondence
    Proven ability to comprehend prior art across all fields relevant to the company's business, and to be critical of such prior art
