    What We Are Looking For:

    We are looking for a IP Docketing Clerk to contribute to the overall daily operation, administration and organization of a busy Intellectual Property group. The successful candidate will be accustomed to tight deadlines and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous IP experience who is detailed oriented and has strong technical skills.

    Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily docketing for the IP group, including opening files, coordinating with accounting, updating client instructions, transfers, etc.
  • Responsible for daily docketing of all patent and trademark related correspondence, including documents received from the Canadian, U.S., and foreign patent and trademark offices
  • Generate daily reports for IP group
  • Correspond daily with staff and professionals
  • Handle a high volume workload with great accuracy and organization
  • Review, report, and bill certain Canadian documentation
  • Assist the IP group with other tasks as assigned
  • Produce the highest quality work
  • Accountable for all work assigned

    • Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous IP experience
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary education in a related field
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) online system and Pattsy docketing system would be an asset
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands

    • Skills:

  • MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel and Workshare Compare)
  • Knowledge of PATTSY is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Good judgement and decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized
  • Resourceful
  • Detailed
