Academic Psychiatrist – Dual Diagnosis
We invite applications for the full-time position of Academic Psychiatrist- Dual Diagnosis to work in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences (DPBN), McMaster University. This full- time faculty appointment is on the Clinician Educator track in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster, with financial compensation coming from other salaried employment within the Developmental Dual Diagnosis Program at our partner hospital - St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
The successful candidate will hold a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at an academic rank appropriate to their credentials and experience. The position offers exceptional opportunities for career growth and development commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated interest and expertise in working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. As the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences has a strong research and educational mandate, the successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment and skills in clinical education with all levels of learners and in providing leadership and training to future Psychiatrists, and will have an interest in clinical research activities.
The appointee to this position will participate fully in all appropriate departmental and divisional administrative, educational, and research committees and meetings, and will contribute, collaborate, and consult to other programs departmentally.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University is a multidisciplinary Department consisting of MD and non-MD faculty working within a unique regional network of psychiatric services that integrates two general hospitals, a network of community services, a 24-hour regional psychiatric emergency service, an innovative shared-care mental health program, and outreach services for children, adults and the elderly.
