    NOTE:
    Effective April 1, 2024, the salary range for this position is $92,920 to $135,056 per year.

    Social Assistance I&IT Solutions (SAIS) @


    MCCSS:

    At SAIS, we are dedicated to harnessing emerging technologies to improve access to essential services for those in need.

    Collaborate with a team committed to innovation and driving positive change in social assistance programs.

    This position will manage the effective delivery of applications such as MyBenefits, Social Assistance Digital Application (SADA), Messaging, Social Assistance Management System (SAMS), Disability Adjudication Database (DAD) and Debt Administration System (DAS).

    This position will report to the Senior Manager within SAIS and will represent and act on behalf of the Senior Manager as required.

    Attendance at the North York office (5700 Yonge Street) will be required in alignment with the Ontario Public Services' current hybrid work model.

    Managing IT Solution Teams:
    Overseeing and guiding solution teams responsible for maintaining and delivering critical applications, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Leading teams through development cycles, delivering new business requirements, enhancing application performance, and onboarding new services or programs.

    Project Governance:
    Engaging in project governance and approvals, collaborating with other branches and areas for strategic alignment and infrastructure support. Providing oversight on project financial forecasts and executive level materials.

    Providing Technical Leadership:

    Offering technical leadership and oversight, leveraging emerging technologies such as microservices and cloud-native solutions to build and maintain critical applications.


    HR Management:
    Handling HR aspects of team management, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.


    • Effective leadership and management of teams, fostering an engaged and inclusive environment by communicating values, strategies, and expectations.
    • Providing coaching and mentorship to support staff in achieving their personal career growth goals and project objectives.
    • Exercising discretion and independent judgment to determine and manage work activities.
    Technical Expertise


    • Previous experience as an architect, system analyst, developer, or relevant credentials in computer science.
    • Proven ability to manage all phases of large-scale project delivery, including analysis, design, implementation, and testing in a multi-platform environment.
    • Analyzing complex technical challenges and proposing innovative solutions effectively.
    • Implementing industry best practices such as Digital Business Modeling, Agile Development, and Quality Assurance.
    • Demonstrating an innate desire to simplify technology solutions for effective application lifecycle management.
    • Digital Project Management and Delivery Skills
    • Championing the delivery of better, faster, and cheaper digital services.
    • Knowledgeable in project management principles and methodologies.
    • Assessing project progress, priorities, and risks to develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensuring project delivery meets quality standards, schedule, and approved budget while addressing changing or conflicting requirements.
    • Analyzing and evaluating key technical, financial, and business impacts of proposed technology solutions.
    Communication and Relationship Management Skills


    • Tailoring communications to diverse audiences, including staff, clients, partners, vendors, and executives.
    • Facilitating stakeholder consultations to validate needs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
    • Maintaining transparent communication channels and managing expectations responsibly.
