    Loblaw is looking for an Intern of Sustainability and Social Impact (SSI) to help deliver priority ESG initiatives across the company's various divisions and businesses. The SSI team is a central hub that supports the execution and delivery of strategic programs and initiatives across the business, in alignment with the Company's purpose and values and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy.

    Role Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a passion for contributing to Loblaw's purpose – helping Canadians live life well – and the company's commitments to fight climate change and advance social equity.
  • Support project planning and delivery through information and resource coordination, problem and impact analysis, solution proposals, and more.
  • Support SSI programs and initiatives to engage our stakeholders and build ambassadorship.
  • Support reporting to company leadership and across business divisions and departments.
  • Support SSI-related company communication to a range of stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, policymakers, and investors.
  • Researching trends and best practices for Social Impact and Sustainability and identifying opportunities for the business to improve performance on various ESG-related rankings.
  • Role Requirements:

  • University degree or enrollment in a relevant program
  • Familiarity with sustainability and social impact subject matter, measurement, reporting protocols, tools and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the following will be an asset: major Canadian companies; retail; consumer packaged goods; management consulting; compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assets: bilingualism
