    Description

    Communications/PR Associate (Toronto) Join the Impact Public Affairs team in Toronto to gain hands-on experience in public relations, strategic communications, and advocacy efforts.

    We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Communications/PR Associate to join our talented team of professionals.

    The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team members to assist in the development and implementation of effective communication strategies for our clients.

    Founded in 1997, Impact Public Affairs is a full-service government relations and communications firm based in Ottawa, with offices across Canada.


    Position Type:
    Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

    Location:

    In-Person (250 University Avenue, Toronto ON) Responsibilities Support the communications and PR team in researching, developing, and implementing strategic communication plans and initiatives.

    Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, articles, and other written materials for various communication channels.
    Engage in social media content creation, scheduling, and monitoring across various platforms.
    Assist in maintaining and updating media lists, contact databases, and other relevant resources.
    Conduct research to support the development of communication strategies and client presentations.
    Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing communication efforts and outcomes. Qualifications/Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
    Basic understanding of public relations principles, media relations, and communication strategies.
    Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
    Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    Education and Experience College or University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    Experience working/volunteering on Parliament Hill, at Queen's Park and/or on campaigns is an asset. Experience working at a public relations or communications agency is an asset.
