Construction Estimator

Key Responsibilities:


Cost Estimation:


  • Conduct comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information for accurate estimations

Bid Preparation:


  • Prepare detailed and competitive bids for potential construction projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely bid submissions
  • Prepare takeoffs for various scopes of work with respect to the building process
  • Review bid documents and participate in bid meetings as required
  • Review plans and issue purchase orders to various trades at each scope to ensure site team has all purchase orders issued

Budget Analysis:


  • Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to prepare, analyze and refine project budgets
  • Provide support in value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality

Market Research:


  • Stay informed about industry trends, building codes, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimations
  • Identify costsaving opportunities and alternative materials/methods for consideration

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimates
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project requirements

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in the multifamily construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment

Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
