Construction Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

Conduct comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project requirements
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information for accurate estimations

Bid Preparation:

Prepare detailed and competitive bids for potential construction projects
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely bid submissions
Prepare takeoffs for various scopes of work with respect to the building process
Review bid documents and participate in bid meetings as required
Review plans and issue purchase orders to various trades at each scope to ensure site team has all purchase orders issued

Budget Analysis:

Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to prepare, analyze and refine project budgets
Provide support in value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality

Market Research:

Stay informed about industry trends, building codes, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimations
Identify costsaving opportunities and alternative materials/methods for consideration

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimates
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in the multifamily construction sector
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment

Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
