Construction Estimator
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
- Conduct comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information for accurate estimations
Bid Preparation:
- Prepare detailed and competitive bids for potential construction projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely bid submissions
- Prepare takeoffs for various scopes of work with respect to the building process
- Review bid documents and participate in bid meetings as required
- Review plans and issue purchase orders to various trades at each scope to ensure site team has all purchase orders issued
Budget Analysis:
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to prepare, analyze and refine project budgets
- Provide support in value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality
Market Research:
- Stay informed about industry trends, building codes, market conditions, and pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimations
- Identify costsaving opportunities and alternative materials/methods for consideration
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for accurate estimates
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on project requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in the multifamily construction sector
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
