    Job description
    OHRI is seeking an outstanding Scientist in the field of Implementation Science. The successful candidate will be based in the (CIR), an internationally leading interdisciplinary group of 16 implementation scientists.

    As part of this research community, the successful candidate will be linked to a rich, collaborative environment with clinicians and other scientists within The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa.

    The successful candidate will initiate and maintain an original, competitive, and independently funded research program of international calibre and work collaboratively with OHRI's research community as a member of the Ottawa Methods Centre.

    The research program will focus on developing and/or applying methods and strategies that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based health practices into regular use by practitioners/clinicians, healthcare organizations, and policymakers.

    Responsibilities include leading a specialty area of research in implementation science and methodology, collaborating with other members of CIR to develop a strategic plan to expand the breadth and depth of implementation science at The Ottawa Hospital and OHRI, building collaborations to integrate implementation science into all stages of health research, and advancing the knowledge of implementation science both locally and nationally.

    This position will benefit from the extensive research and core facilities for clinical epidemiology, public health, health services research and health policy at OHRI and the University of Ottawa.

    Appointed as a Scientist at OHRI, the successful candidate is anticipated to qualify for an academic appointment at the appropriate level in an academic department at the University of Ottawa and will be expected to contribute to the academic department through teaching, committees, and graduate supervision.


    Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience):


    • Ph.
    D.

    in a health-related field (e.g., Community Health, Sociology, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Health Administration, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, etc.), and significant postdoctoral research experience (i.e., at least three years).



    • Applicants must have strong mixed method expertise and a proven record of outstanding scientific and applied dissemination accomplishments in implementation science (publications in peer-reviewed journals, external funding in implementation projects, presentations at significant conferences, increasing leadership experience in research, etc.)
    • A track record of building and maintaining partnerships & collaborations with multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals and/or field experience independently leading and facilitating the implementation of evidence-based innovations is an asset.
