Description
The Gene Therapy Care Manager (GTCM) is the primary Novartis contact for business opportunities with key accounts. The incumbent is responsible for forging long-term relationships with key decision-makers to create value and implement initiatives at the center, institutional and provincial level to improve treatment outcomes by removing barriers to facilitate immediate treatment. The GTxCM collaborates with cross-functional colleagues to develop and execute tailored programs based on a thorough understanding of the local market drivers and opportunities, which align with the brand strategic imperatives.The role reports directly into the GTx Strategic Director and will work closely with the GTx cross-functional team.Permanent position
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
With support of the Field team (Medical, HPPA), accelerate patient journey and establish Zolgensma as the treatment of choice.
Identify, co-design and implement innovative programs at the account level to align with brand strategies and address local issues/opportunities for unmet customer needs.
Build strategic partnerships with different key stakeholders (e.g. Care Centers, Centers of Excellence, referral centers, Nurses/Nurse Practitioners, etc.) within the assigned geography, through joint initiatives that deliver patient benefit and can improve patient outcomes.
Gain key insights through engagement and consultation with care center stakeholders that have impact on the management of patients across the Gene Therapy portfolio.
Ensure excellence in execution by leading and coordinating field cross-functional team (Medical, HPPA) effort in the successful implementation of center business/projects plans.
This a field-based role with an expectation for business travel and customer facing responsibilities.
Identify the patient/healthcare landscape and learn about gene therapy, specifically treatment decisions.
Quickly navigate the complex institutional center/disease site processes to ensure patients receive treatment/follow-up/reimbursement.
7+ years pharmaceutical related in-hospital/academic sales experience with a strong record of achievement. Experience in sales and one of marketing, medical or value and access an asset
Demonstrated record of success and experience operating in an Account Manager role including experience developing key account strategic and business plans
Demonstrated record of success in an Academic Institutional setting.
Strong leadership without authority and collaboration skills to effectively lead and influence cross functional team. Has a full understanding of the role of medical, communications & PE, value and access and strategic teams
Demonstrated strategic thinking, perseverance, resilience, and ability to balance short and long- term goals.
Experience in Cell & Gene Therapy, oncology, rare disease or specialty is a strong asset.
Proven track record of managing internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders.
