    IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY

    Interim Director of Professional Practice/ Education

    Reports To: Chief, Strategy, Stakeholder relations, Research, Information & Knowledge

    Duration: 6-12 months

    Location: Toronto, ON

    Hybrid 2 days on-site, 3 days remote

    Our client, a significant government agency, offers scientific and technical advice to various publicly funded organizations and health providers. This position goes beyond the typical professional practice role by requiring strong coaching and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will support and guide a large team while designing and implementing educational programs for adult healthcare professionals.

    This role is both exciting and impactful within a prominent organization, offering challenges and the opportunity to provide strategic leadership. You will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating our client's Knowledge Exchange strategy to enhance the impact of research and evidence, ultimately strengthening the healthcare system.

    RESPONSABILITIES:

    • Lead and direct a comprehensive range of knowledge exchange services to drive innovation and change at individual, organizational, and systemic levels.
    • Supervise education and professional development programs to meet current and emerging needs while nurturing the next generation of professionals.
    • Manage library services and knowledge exchange endeavors to influence the healthcare system effectively and equitably.
    • Ensure compliance with accessibility legislation and remove barriers to product access.
    • Promote knowledge exchange best practices and tools among senior leaders to enhance evidence-based practices.
    • Oversee organizational adherence to policies, standards, and regulations, including language requirements and accessibility guidelines.
    • Manage relationships both internally and externally, resolving conflicts that impact departmental goals and strategic direction.
    • Set strategic directions, define operations, and provide leadership to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Uphold organizational values and embed them into the area of responsibility.
    • Support emergency response efforts as required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Master's degree in a related field like adult education, knowledge translation, or public policy.
    • Minimum of ten years in senior management within complex environments related to academia, healthcare, or science.
    • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing professional development and education programs.
    • Proven track record in all aspects of Knowledge Mobilization.
    • Political acumen and ability to navigate governmental relationships effectively.
    • Extensive knowledge in the Canadian public health and healthcare systems.
    • Ability to interpret complex data for strategy development.
    • Experience managing budgets and ensuring financial compliance.
