    Description
    Position: Dean, School of Management & Business
    Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
    Reports To: Vice-President, Academic
    Primary Purpose
    The appointed Dean of the School of Management and Business within UCW's senior administration will collaborate with the Vice-President, Academic, and the dean of the School of Arts, Science, and Technology to reorganize the departmental structure. The Dean will establish a compelling vision aligned with the institution's mission and goals, leading efforts to enhance the reputation and impact of business programs on local, national, and international levels.
    Specific Responsibilities
    • Develop and execute a proactive faculty recruitment strategy
    • Conduct biennial performance reviews of the faculty
    • Arrange external evaluation of the MBA program
    • Support the operations of the UCW Centre for Advanced Studies as necessary
    • Drive curriculum development by introducing innovative programs and adapting to market demands
    • Promote global initiatives and partnerships
    • Create engagement opportunities for UCW alumni
    • Advance Reconciliation, Inclusion, Access, and Sustainability efforts
    • Integrate Indigenous knowledge into curricula to promote reconciliation and decolonization
    • Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and access across all levels
    Position Requirements
    Competencies
    • Lead and oversee various academic activities effectively and collaboratively
    • Foster a research culture and support research development for societal and economic benefits
    • Enhance teaching quality and academic programs continuously
    • Engage actively with the business community locally, nationally, and internationally
    • Establish and maintain connections with industry and business communities
    Education and Experience
    • Ph.D. in a relevant field and a strong record in teaching, research, and service
    • Demonstrated success in leadership roles within a university or similar complex organization
