- Managing multiple ongoing procurement projects across the department in compliance to the overarching framework, and government and ministry requirements to execute business priorities
- Leading the day-to-day activities of the Services Procurement team to and enable the department to have the consultant contracts needed to achieve business goals
- Providing strategic advice and recommendations to the Director to inform progress on broader procurement strategies and priorities
- Recommending improvements in procurement policies, practices and documents based on analysis of current trends and emerging needs
- Leading the regular review and evaluation of templates and supporting documents to ensure accuracy and consistency across all documents and templates
- Serving as Acting Director, Procurement as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of the systems (ICAPS, CMS, APC, 1GX) used for/with procurement in the ministry
- Project management skills to oversee and guide multiple procurement projects in which the team is involved
- Leadership and administration skills for managing the Services Procurement staff and activities, including financial management and personnel management
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Engineering, Law, Architecture, or other related discipline. may also be sufficient
- Continuing professional development in time management, project management, information technology, dispute resolution, and negotiation skills required
- A technical diploma in architecture, construction engineering, or other fields, supplemented with extensive, progressively responsible procurement experience
- Several years of progressive project experience with a focus on procurement leadership
- Design and/or field experience

- A strong background related to infrastructure planning, procurement, design, and construction

Alberta Infrastructure designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that schools, hospitals, and government facilities infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta's population. Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Procurement, the Manager, Services Procurement, is responsible for leading the team that works with business units across the department to plan and execute consulting services procurement projects for Alberta Infrastructure (including major architectural and engineering consulting assignments for vertical infrastructure projects).
The Manager monitors all projects to ensure processes are fair, objective, transparent, and consistently applied across all service procurement projects, regardless of their size or value. Where barriers or issues arise the Manager will coach and guide Specialists, or get more directly involved when issues are significant. Integrated reports and updates are provided to the Director to support planning and prioritization of unit business.
