    The Hillman Group Canada employs over employees in 2 manufacturing facilities and 7 distribution facilities across Canada. We have a great group of professionals whose dedication and teamwork form the backbone of our company.

    Job Summary

    The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that product is merchandised on the shelve in a timely manner, setting up and tearing down displays and clearing any unwanted products from the shelves. The Merchandiser is required to visit different big box retail stores weekly. Steel-toe shoes are required for this role.

    Essential Job Functions *

  • Ensure merchandise is displayed appropriately and strategically with proper signage and shelf placement.
  • Build and maintain product displays.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Bring issues and discrepancies to the attention of the Detailer or Detailer Supervisor.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow store safety rules and work in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years as a representative or similar job in a big box retailer environment is preferred.

    • Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Outlook.
  • Performs function with a sense of purpose and a degree of urgency.
  • Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (oral & written).
