    The Student Services department's role in student success is to create a culture and environment that unleashes the full potential of all the students at SAIT. Our primary goal is to support Student-First Culture, by focusing on student success and mobilizing all campus community members in this shared goal. The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Student Development and Counseling, SAIT is currently hiring a full-time ( hours per week) Post-Secondary Mental Health (PSMH) Grant Coordinato r. The PSMH Grant Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the coordination and administration of the PSMH Grant at SAIT. This role will oversee the Student Wellness Promotion Specialist Team and will support that team in planning, implementing, and evaluation of health and well-being promotion initiatives, events, and resources on campus. This position will also work closely with Student Development and counseling in supervising the administrative support team. The position end date may be extended contingent on funding.

    The Role

  • Leadership - 15%
  • Oversee the SAIT Student Wellness Promotion Team [Student Wellness Promotion specialist, ad team of student Outreach and Wellness Leaders (OWLs)].
  • Oversee Student Development and Counselling Administrative support in collaboration with counsellors.
  • Advise on the development of the mental health and wellness promotion and harm-reduction operational plans.
  • Project and Budget Management - 45%
  • Ensure operational aspects of the projects(s) are addressed, managed, and moving forward.
  • Ensure the project is within scope, cost, timeliness, and quality.
  • Responsible for PSMH budget management, including Wellness Warrior Funding.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation framework and monitor the implementation of the National Standards for Post-Secondary Student Mental Health and Well-Being.
  • Collaborate closely with recipients of mental health grant funding to ensure financial obligations are met and financial records are complete.
  • Funding, Evaluation, and Reporting - 25%
  • Prepare the PSMH grant application and liaise with Alberta Advanced Education. Explore relevant funding opportunities and prepare additional funding applications, as required.
  • Prepare regular, semester, and annual reports, as part of operational planning and PSMH funding requirements, as required.
  • Evaluate outreach and health promotion strategies and initiatives and adjust accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain a database and data collection protocol regarding initiatives and programs instituted with PSMH funding.
  • Prepare reports for CCWS survey results dissemination as required.
  • Principal Investigator on non-BI&A campus-wide student wellness surveys. , Canadian Campus Well-being Survey of National College Health Assessment.
  • Responsible for SAIT REB applications as required.
  • Collaboration & mental health and wellness promotion - 15%
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mental health and wellness promotion initiatives.
  • Represent SAIT in local, regional, and provincial committees related to post-secondary student mental health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with various campus stakeholders and coordinate outreach activities within other SAIT departments (, Natoysopoyiis, International Centre) and SAIT Satellite campuses (, Point Trotter, Aero Centre).
  • Support the development of a new Campus Mental Health and Wellness Framework.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum
  • Degree in a health-related discipline (such as Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Public Health) or project management credential with 3-5 years of exposure to a mental health and wellness or health-related environment.
  • Project and financial management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large organization, preferably in a Higher Education setting.

  • Research-related background with experience exploring best-practices.
  • Qualitative and quantitative stats experience and understanding.
  • Knowledge of and experience with implementing harm-reduction best-practices.
