    We are seeking a Software Engineer with a green heart who is serious about climate action. It doesn't matter if you're just starting your sustainability journey or have many years of advocacy under your belt. If you are passionate about using innovation and technology to create a positive impact, we would love to connect. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is a visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit. Someone who has a young at heart soul who is driven to make a difference in the world.

    Our startup was selected as a finalist in the Circular Innovation City Challenge, putting us in the top 15 innovative climate solutions globally, building a low carbon future. We have completed two pilots in the past (one being Wisebox, Toronto's first reusable container program in Toronto, which got semi-viral with 60K+ impressions), our MVP is ready, we have clients and a strong and passionate team We have already gained traction in the market and are very close to our launch

    Role purpose: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Co-Founder and Head of Technology. Someone who is looking to roll up their sleeves and join us on this exciting journey We currently have a very talented and passionate team and are looking for the right software engineer to help us scale our impact. The decisions and inputs you will bring will contribute exponentially to our venture's mission and success. This is a valuable chance to build a startup from its proof of concept and help form a world-class team that will disrupt the takeout and food industry while building the next economy.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years as a hands-on technical lead in development & software architecture
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing technical teams
  • Restaurant/food app industry experience or understanding, but not required
  • Knowledge of PHP and WordPress (open source preferred)
  • Experience in an agile environment
  • Proven ability to set a product vision and roadmap
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Software Development, including experience with product management, managing software development process from conceptualization, coding, coding infrastructure, code repositories, architecture, secure engineering principles, and change management
  • Knowledge of technology in systems, development/architecture, security, database to be able to oversee, manage and bring together all technology areas
  • Business acumen - must be able to approach technology issues from a business perspective
  • Understanding of budgets and business planning
  • Knowledge of technological trends to build a strategy
  • Bonus: experience working in a startup environment
