    Description

    Yorktown Search Partners is currently conducting a discreet search for a Vice President to oversee the Origination team nationally in the commercial mortgage sector. This crucial position requires a seasoned professional in commercial real estate finance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and expand the Origination team nationwide, utilizing existing teams and recruiting new members.
    • Develop and implement origination strategies in line with the client's long-term Strategic Plan.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and supervise day-to-day operations to meet business objectives.
    • Cultivate essential customer relationships and pinpoint opportunities for business expansion.
    • Collaborate with Investment Management on underwriting due diligence and investor approval procedures.
    • Create and execute national marketing and sales strategies across different channels.
    • Promote innovation and flexibility in response to market fluctuations, recommending policy and product improvements.

    Leadership and Governance:

    • Advocate for the company's vision, mission, and values internally and externally.
    • Guide, develop, and retain a high-performing origination team.
    • Set performance benchmarks, encourage creativity, and ensure adherence to regulations.
    • Serve as the company's representative in interactions with key stakeholders and industry associations.
    • Ensure team members have appropriate licenses and comply with statutory obligations.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Canadian commercial mortgage sector.
    • 2-3 years' experience in leadership focusing on team growth.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred, with professional certifications considered a bonus.
    • Mortgage Broker License mandatory.
