    Purpose of Job

    The Head of Market Analysis and Business Intelligence will be responsible for conducting research and analysis, providing insights into market trends, competitive landscapes and customer behavior. This role involves collecting, interpreting and presenting data, providing strategic guidance to help Telesat make informed business decisions and develop effective strategies.

    The candidate should be able to interpret complex data, demonstrate strong analytical skills, must possess expertise in data analysis tools and knowledge of market research methodologies. They should also have excellent communication skills to convey their findings effectively and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

    This is a highly dynamic role perfectly suited for someone who is ambitious, results oriented, and looking to do something meaningful every day.

    Main Responsibilities (Market Research and Analysis):
    • Review, maintain and update the Lightspeed Total Addressable Market (TAM) across existing verticals and newly identified ones.
    • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis, understand industry dynamics, market trends, competitive landscapes and customer behavior.
    • Utilize a range of research methods, data sources and analytical tools to gather insights.
    Main Responsibilities (Industry and Trend Analysis):
    • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging trends and advancements relevant to Telesat
    • Offer insights on market shifts, opportunities for innovation and potential disruptors.
    Main Responsibilities (Data Collection and Interpretation):
    • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to derive meaningful insights.
    • Utilize statistical techniques, data modeling and advanced analytics to identify patterns, correlations and trends.
    Main Responsibilities (Strategic Consulting):
    • Provide strategic guidance based on research findings and market analysis.
    • Interface, support and present Telesat's TAM and Business Case to outside analysts and potential business partners
    • Develop comprehensive reports and presentations, including actionable recommendations for business strategies, product development and market positioning.
    Main Responsibilities (Market Entry and Expansion Strategies):
    • Act as a resource for specific market and customer related analysis to other internal groups as needed (Corp Dev, Marketing, Sales Operations, Sales)
    • Assist with supporting data for entering new markets or expanding existing presence
    • Assess market potential and provide recommendations on market entry strategies, target segments, customers and product positioning.
    Main Responsibilities (Competitive Intelligence Analysis):
    • Research market and competitor trends.
    • Assess the competitive landscape, analyzing competitors' products, pricing, marketing strategies and market share.
    • Provide insights on market gaps and opportunities for differentiation.
    Main Responsibilities (Market Forecasting):
    • Inform and contribute towards pricing of Telesat offerings based on analytics and information collated. Using historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors to forecast future market conditions, demand, and potential opportunities.
    • Assists business groups in making informed decisions regarding pricing and product development strategies.
    Main Responsibilities (Collaboration and Communication):
    • Inform and contribute on Marketing and messaging.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales operations, sales and product development to ensure alignment and sharing of insights.
    • Effectively communicating research findings and recommendations to stakeholders is also crucial.
    Education and Experience required:
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in business consulting
    • Financial and economic (e.g., costs, price) modelling
    • A degree in a relevant discipline: MBA is desirable.
    • Analyzing, interpreting and presenting data
    • Communicating insights through presentations
    • Highly collaborative team-player who can quickly build trust.
    • Ability to rigorously prioritize opportunities, needs, and resources.

    The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP)
