    JOB SUMMARY

    The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for building a healthy, inclusive and vibrant City, as well as ensuring that communities, residents and visitors have access to the recreation and cultural places, programs, events and services that allow them to experience all the benefits the City has to offer, and overseeing Buildings and Facilities Management for improved service delivery integration, ensuring the best possible client experience in City facilities.

    Under the guidance of a supervisor, you are responsible for assisting with all functions related to the delivery of summer camp programs to ensure a safe and enjoyable camp experience for special needs children/youth registered at the camp. You provide direct client care and intervention, and program adaptation. The programs may take place indoors, outdoors, or in a variety of locations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Post-secondary Student - completion of first year college or university in Nursing, Developmental Services Worker, Recreation and Leisure, or related field

    Minimum of 8 months but less than 1 year of related experience is required

    CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

    Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificatesAODA Accessibility/IASR TrainingAlternative Communication Systems (ASL- American Sign Language) training is desirableErgonomic Lifts and Transfers trainingCrisis Prevention/Intervention training certificate is an assetPrinciples of Healthy Child Development training course - High Five is desirable

  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
