Role Responsibilities
Do you have a passion for storytelling? Do you thrive in a collaborative team environment? Are you looking for a fast-paced job where your work will have an impact the lives of Alberta's families? If so, you could be the team member we need
We are looking for creative individuals that can translate data into narratives that can be understood by non-data experts. If this sounds like you, this is your opportunity to be part of a team that delivers high-quality information that will impact child care programs and services by providing support in data quality and analysis, including data collection, data analysis and interpretation, data visualization and report writing.
The Quality Control and Reporting Specialist is responsible for providing accurate reports and summaries of information tailored to a variety of audiences, as well as quality control and monitoring activities to ensure that programs are delivered by the Ministry in accordance with program policies and standards.
The Quality Control and Reporting Specialist works within a team environment to provide expert advice on quality assurance and continuous improvement, measurement and reporting, and research and analysis. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring that sound research and analysis methods are used and that stakeholder needs are identified and addressed. You will promote the use of quality assurance best practices and encourage proactive sharing of information and analytic results to encourage evidence-informed decision-making throughout the department. In addition, your role will be to deliver reporting and analysis on various child care projects, including supporting deliverables associated with the Canada-Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, in a timely and effective manner.
To be successful in this role, you must keep up to date on emerging trends within the field of early learning and child care and incorporate this knowledge into your data-driven world. You must also bring knowledge and experience in all aspects of quality assurance and reporting, as well as strong project management and time management skills. You must have the ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently. Finally, strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships will be key as you work with program areas and cross-ministry stakeholders.
APS Competencies
Competencies are behaviors that are essential to reach our goals in serving Albertans. We encourage you to have an in depth understanding of the competencies that are required for this opportunity and to be prepared to demonstrate them during the recruitment process.
