    Director of Operations, Logistics, Connectrans

    The Role

    This position is responsible for managing the transportation and logistics services and solutions for assigned customers. Lead a team of Logistics Coordinators optimizing customer satisfaction, growth and contribution while creating a healthy, team oriented culture. Reports to the VP Logistics.

    Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct resources to maintain and grow customer satisfaction, customer value and profitable customer relationships
  • Plan and execute cost effective customer solutions
  • Develop relationships with leadership contacts in customer and carrier organizations to retain and grow logistics services
  • Oversee the implementation of new customer and carrier services
  • Coordinate with customers and operations management team to ensure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to logistics solutions, timelines, cost and execution
  • Keep up to date account information for all customers
  • Collaborate with sales to attract new clients
  • Handle contract negotiations, implementation, and communications with customers and carriers
  • Develop new opportunities within the assigned customer base
  • Create a strong connection with finance, administration and IT

    • Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, transportation or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in Transportation, Logistics Operations and/or business development, preferably in cross border and domestic transportation services
  • Effective leadership, communication (verbal and written), organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, problem analysis and resolution, and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 10-30% travel
