    Data Architect - Senior (Contract)
    Data Analytics Toronto , Ontario Contract Jun 26, 2023

    DLS Technology Corporation is looking for two Data Architects for long-term contract roles in Toronto, ON. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate expert skills in the designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's data architecture. The ideal candidate for this position should also be able to play a key role in data governance and ensuring data security and compliance.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Recommend the appropriate data stores and build and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for transactional, BI, operational and analytical platforms

    Translates business requirements and business operations practices into data collection and management solutions

    Informs, designs and implements datamarts, warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouses, API's and analytics systems

    Identify and articulate technical and operational requirements for data pipelines and the models they populate; be able to optimize these pipelines for high performance/resiliency workloads

    Designs robust, reusable and scalable data solutions and pipeline frameworks to automate ingestion, processing and delivery of batch and real-time streaming data

    Supports data architecture initiatives and collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Governance and Business partners to ensure designs follow data management standards and best practices

    Assists with data-related technical challenges and perform root-cause analysis to answer specific business questions and recommend and implementing ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality

    Collaborates in the planning, design, development, and deployment of Change and technology implementation activities where needed

    Assists with solution architecture, technical design, and implementation of end-to-end data systems that enable well-integrated transactional, business intelligence, and analytical platforms

    REQUIREMENTS:

    The successful candidates must have:

    Degree in quantitative discipline (Mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics or a combination of education in a similar field)

    Strong knowledge of Database technologies such as AWS, SQL

    5 + years in data architecture role or a combination of experience in a related role

    Work experience in the Information Technology industry, or IT consulting service industry.

    Fundamental understanding of the Information Technology industry language and terminology.

    Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI and Quicksight

    Experience with API development (REST/JSON)

    Experience working in cross functional environment and engaging with the team through collaboration, problem solving and teamwork
