    Hydro Ottawa Limited, a subsidiary of Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc., delivers electricity to approximately 353,000 homes and businesses in the City of Ottawa and the Village of Casselman. For more than a century, Hydro Ottawa has supplied its customers with clean, safe and reliable power to help build a vibrant and sustainable national capital region.

    In November 2023, The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) and Hydro Ottawa announced their partnership to build an energy efficient central utility plant to support TOH's state-of-the-art new hospital and advance sustainable energy generation in Ottawa.The project will cost $500 million and have a delivery date of 2030.

    The new central utility plant will support emergency power, heating, cooling, steam, and domestic hot water requirements for the new hospital. Its high-efficiency design will implement innovative technology to lower TOH's overall carbon footprint, with a focus on electrifying thermal loads. The plant will be capable of supplying the new hospital with enough power to ensure that the systems that support patient health and safety will remain operational throughout disruptions to the normal power grid.

    This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the development and execution of an energy-efficient Central Utility Plant, a ground-breaking project that will support The Ottawa Hospital's state-of-the-art new hospital. Hydro Ottawa is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to play a central role in this transformative project that will contribute to the advancement of environmentally friendly and efficient energy solutions in the Nation's Capital. The Senior Project Manager will oversee a team of 20-30 people on the design and engineering side and will work closely with third-party contractors in the delivery of the plant.They will manage a myriad of stakeholders and partners in ensuring that ambitious timelines are met, and that the resulting plant truly meets the needs of the hospital and serves as the cornerstone for the future broader energy district.

    As the ideal candidate, you are a seasoned project manager with at least 7 years experience leading successful large-scale ($150M+) complex infrastructure projects within ambitious timelines.You have navigated multifaceted stakeholder groups and bring a track record of working effectively with partners and contractors to deliver results on time and on budget. You bring a laser-like focus to the task at hand, but also possess the bigger picture perspectives on how a singular project fits with future systems. Comfortable with ambiguity, you are known as a creative problem-solver with a forward-looking vision and a commitment to delivering results.Above all, you relish the opportunity to lead the development of a leading-edge solution to serve critical community needs in new and innovative ways.PMP certification is highly desired, and experience with the energy sector would be an asset.
