    Job Summary:

    CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Project Manager, Energy Efficiency reporting to the Program Manager, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

    In this challenging and rewarding role, you will interact with industry experts, manufacturers, academia, researchers, scientists, and government to develop leading edge standards' solutions, facilitate technical discussions and promote consensus amongst these leaders.

    The Energy Efficiency team manages a diverse portfolio of world-class national and international standards and guides. Delivering value-added solutions that facilitate safety, design, quality and performance are at our core. Astute in learning and understanding these sectors, you will come to appreciate the challenges of standards development as they touch on regulations and may have product or system certification implications.

    Responsibilities:

  • Managing of standards development activities within the Energy Efficiency Program including HVAC&R, industrial and residential equipment, lighting products, and building energy system performance.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business development initiatives to expand the portfolio into new areas in support of broader clean technologies.
  • Developing key stakeholder relationships (with academia, regulators, industry, etc).
  • Overseeing all aspects of the standards development process, primarily involving the management of multiple Canadian, US, and international standards development committees.
  • The role requires a sound understanding and execution of the various processes and procedures of the company, many of which are mandated under the accreditation of CSA Standards by both the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). A key element of the Project Manager role is to ensure that these processes and procedures are adhered to, and that the timelines of the project are achieved within the defined budget.
  • Day-to-day management of committee activities that include establishing and delivering on project milestones, project resources (funding, personnel support), and assembling project schedules and revenue targets.
  • Working with committee chairs and vice chairs to manage the committee membership, including member recruitment and improving committee performance.
  • Liaising with clients, management, Legal and Finance to compose proposals, contracts, and financial analysis for new projects.

    • Education:

    A technical degree or Technologist (BSc, B.Eng or CET) in an engineering discipline or related area of study. Electrical or mechanical discipline would be an asset.

    Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, with 3-5 years' experience in Standards Development or Project Management.
  • Experience gained from industry/manufacturing/utility sectors, or policy/regulatory environment would be an asset.

    Le Groupe CSA est à la recherche d'un gestionnaire de projet, Efficacité énergétique, qui relèvera du gestionnaire de programme, Efficacité énergétique et énergie renouvelable.

    Dans ce rôle stimulant et enrichissant, vous interagirez avec des experts de l'industrie, des fabricants, des universitaires, des chercheurs, des scientifiques et des représentants du gouvernement afin d'élaborer des solutions de normes de pointe, d'animer des discussions techniques et de favoriser le consensus parmi ces chefs de file.

    L'équipe chargée de l'efficacité énergétique gère un portefeuille diversifié de normes et de guides nationaux et internationaux de classe mondiale. La fourniture de solutions à valeur ajoutée qui facilitent la sécurité, la conception, la qualité et la performance est au cœur de nos préoccupations. Vous apprendrez à connaître et à comprendre ces secteurs et vous vous rendrez compte des défis que pose l'élaboration des normes, car elles touchent aux réglementations et peuvent avoir des répercussions sur la certification des produits ou des systèmes.

    Responsabilités:

  • Gérer les activités d'élaboration de normes dans le cadre du programme d'efficacité énergétique, notamment en ce qui concerne le chauffage, la ventilation, la climatisation et la réfrigération, les équipements industriels et résidentiels, les produits d'éclairage et les performances des systèmes énergétiques des bâtiments.
  • Identifier et poursuivre de nouvelles initiatives de développement commercial afin d'étendre le portefeuille à de nouveaux domaines à l'appui de technologies propres plus larges.
  • Développer les relations avec les principales parties prenantes (universités, régulateurs, industrie, etc.).
  • Superviser tous les aspects du processus d'élaboration des normes, ce qui implique principalement la gestion de plusieurs comités d'élaboration de normes canadiens, américains et internationaux.
  • Le poste exige une bonne compréhension et l'exécution des divers processus et procédures de l'entreprise, dont bon nombre sont mandatés dans le cadre de l'accréditation de Normes CSA par le Conseil canadien des normes (CCN) et l'American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Un élément clé du rôle du gestionnaire de projet est de s'assurer que ces processus et procédures sont respectés et que les délais du projet sont respectés dans le cadre du budget défini.
  • La gestion quotidienne des activités du comité, qui comprend l'établissement et le respect des étapes du projet, les ressources du projet (financement, soutien du personnel), et l'assemblage des calendriers du projet et des objectifs de revenus.
  • Travailler avec les présidents et les vice-présidents des comités pour gérer la composition des comités, y compris le recrutement des membres et l'amélioration des performances des comités.
  • Assurer la liaison avec les clients, la direction, le service juridique et le service financier.

    • Formation:

    Diplôme technique ou Technologue (BSc, B.Eng ou CET) dans une discipline d'ingénierie ou un domaine d'étude connexe. Une discipline électrique ou mécanique serait un atout.

    Expérience:

  • Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience pertinente, dont 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans l'élaboration de normes ou la gestion de projets.
  • Une expérience acquise dans les secteurs de l'industrie, de la fabrication ou des services publics, ou dans un environnement politique ou réglementaire serait un atout.
