    Description

    The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of the office and effective case management by providing legal services under the supervision of an attorney. This individual will communicate frequently with the clients to serve them adequately. Additionally, this candidate will conduct necessary case research to aid the legal proceedings.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the lawyer
    • Handle communication with clients
    • Locate and develop case-relevant information
    • Administrative matters relating to files, including conflict checks, opening and closing files, docket entry, filing and accounts
    • Calendar management
    • Communication and follow up with various individuals
    • Communicate with clients to arrange meetings, manage administrative matters and generally coordinate client-facing matters.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
    • Minimum of 3 years' previous experience as a Legal Assistant
    • Experience in commercial real estate law is an asset
    • Experience in Conveyancer and Teraview
    • Flexible to work overtime as required
    • Handle time-pressure situations
    • Must have strong Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Applications skills
    • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
