    Junior Business Development Representative
    Communications & Member Engagement Temp Ottawa, ON

    The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) is a non-profit organization established in 1960 to represent the nuclear industry in Canada.

    We promote a strong vibrant and expanding nuclear industry that benefits our members, stakeholders and all Canadians.

    The CNA's purpose is to lead and focus dialogue with and among key stakeholders concerning Canada's nuclear future, namely to be, and to be seen and heard to be, the voice of the industry.

    To this end, CNA offers a range of services:

    regulatory and government affairs; research and policy development; Reporting to the Vice President, Communications & Member Engagement, the Junior Business Development Representative will provide support and advice on all aspects of membership recruitment, engagement and retention.

    The Junior Business Development Representative acts as a liaison between the CNA organization and our members, ensuring our membership program is well-organized and meets the needs of our members.

    Build, maintain, and keep up to date a database/CRM of current, past, and potential CNA members, including defining and implementing a taxonomy for categorization and sector mapping.


    • Create and maintain a mapping of the Canadian and North American nuclear sectors, with the purpose of researching potential new members.
    • Maintain and keep up to date member page on the CNA website.
    • Under the direction of the VP, Communications & Member Engagement, conduct initial outreach or cold calls to build contacts and set up discussions with potential members.
    • Manage administrative tasks related to membership, in coordination with the finance and administration teams.
    • University degree or college diploma preferably in, business administration, public relations, marketing, event planning or related field
    • Experience working with a CRM or database
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), social media and email marketing tools, various web meeting/presentation applications, and a basic understanding of website content management systems (WordPress)
    • Previous experience in sustainability, associations, or similar roles would considered be an asset
    Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
    The following attributes are considered an asset:

    • Working knowledge of French
    The successful candidate is expected to work/live in Ottawa and/or the surrounding area.

    • Work is in a comfortable office and home office environment.
    • The successful candidate is expected to work a minimum of two days per week in the CNA's Ottawa office. This may change in the future to more than two days per week.
    • May be expected to travel outside the Ottawa area to attend meetings with other institutions, conferences or training venues.
    • Travel would generally be one week or less to attend conferences or trainings, or to support project deliverables
    • Some local, provincial, national or international travel between the CNA's client sites or stakeholders may be required.
