Key
Responsibilities:- Prepare
and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and
industry setting- Participate
in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews- Facilitate
the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure
efficient and effective delivery of course materials- Manage
instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective
learning environment- Create
assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records- Provide
early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student
success and retention- Respond
to student issues- Utilize
appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and
program promotions- Maintenance
and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly- Maintain
professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry
partners- Actively
participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan
as identified by the institute- Utilize
regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement- Improve
the quality of instruction through professional development activities- Other
duties as assigned

Qualifications:- High
School Diploma- Completion
of Heavy Equipment Journeyperson ticket or provincial equivalent including
Inter-Provincial Red Seal required- Minimum
5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.- Teaching
experience an asset
Remuneration: Will commensurate with
education and experience, plus 18.5% in lieu of statuary holidays and vacation.
Instructor salary grid $ $59.98 per hour, however, starting hourly wage
for a new hire averages between $41.76 – 45.41 per hour based on education and
experience. (Classification – Instructor).
This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff
Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
