- Designing Control Systems: create detailed designs for electrical control systems that regulate the operation of machinery, equipment, and processes within the plant. This includes selecting appropriate components such as sensors, actuators, controllers, and communication devices.
- Developing Schematics and Diagrams : produce schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to illustrate the configuration and connections of electrical components in the control system. These documents serve as guides for installation and troubleshooting.
- Programming PLCs and HMIs: They write programs for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to control and monitor the plant's machinery and processes. This involves using programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.
- Integration with SCADA Systems: In larger plants, may integrate control systems with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for centralized monitoring and control of various processes across the plant.
- Education: A diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field is required.
- Work Experience: 5+ years of experience, including project management experience and a proven track record of successful control system design and implementation.
- Experience with Robot programming and simulation (Motoman, ABB)
- Experience with Omron and Allen Bradley plc is preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools for creating schematics and layouts.
