    Apply locations Calgary, AB - Sons Bakery time type Full time posted on Posted 7 Days Ago job requisition id R814716 The Maintenance Parts Planner Lead is responsible for ordering & receiving parts/services, inventory management, scheduling & assigning work orders, data collection and reporting. This position leads and supports the workflow of the maintenance technicians and contractors by providing them with the information and parts necessary to complete their projects. The position will need to work closely with the lead hands and technicians to successfully assist in preparing jobs that involve inventory. Reports to the Maintenance Manager but will work collaboratively with other departments and assist in food manufacturing activities to align with operational needs.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Schedule, assign and close out work orders using the CMMS
    • Audit preventive maintenance and other work for quality and conformance to food safety standards
    • Ensure that completed work information captured in CMMS is meaningful and accurate
    • Modify preventive maintenance tasks and frequencies to address trending issues or breakdowns
    • Create reports and visual charts for KPI's relating to downtime, completion rates, budget, etc.
    • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory by ordering and stocking parts as necessary
    • Work with local/inter-plant support & OEM's to identify critical and spare parts inventory
    • Research multiple avenues to resource inventory and adhere to department budgets
    • Develop and maintain strong relationship with vendors and contractors
    • Coordinate emergency repairs with lead hands, shift supervisors, external vendors and contractors
    • Maintain and organize the maintenance parts and shop area
    • Order requested items and log entries appropriately, saving information for spare parts lists
    • Head the development and re-design of parts and inventory storage
    • Take scheduled cycle counts of the inventory items in the maintenance parts area
    • Assist all maintenance personnel in effectively recording all parts used and work completed
    • Lead in parts and project research for production equipment and/or capital projects
    • Make recommendations to improve the efficiency of maintenance operations
    • Maintain daily logs, produce and distribute maintenance reports as required
    • Develop and implement department goals and strategies based on organizational targets
    • Execute crisis communication of abnormal or critical situations and seek advice on matters outside their knowledge or authority
    • Complete training and programs provided by C.H. Guenther and Sons
    • Participate in routine global bakery platform remote meetings within C.H. Guenther and Sons
    • Possibility to function as floor support for downtime, absenteeism and vacation support

    Minimum Job Requirement Expectations:

    Education/Certification:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
    • Skilled trade training or equivalent technical expertise (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)

    Experience & Attributes:

    • Possesses a thorough knowledge of food manufacturing maintenance activities and expertise using CMMS for preventive maintenance scheduling and work order management
    • Commands the ability to prioritize, schedule, and support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
    • Communicates with facility staff, vendors and contractors in a clear and concise manner
    • Maintains a positive work attitude and takes initiative
    • Upholds a strong attention to detail and has the confidence to lead the workflow
    • Must be able to effectively work in a team environment
    • Maintenance background in a food manufacturing environment preferred
    • Experience with CMMS required
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs, specifically Excel
