    Sheltering and Outreach Project Operations Manager

    PHS Community Services Society is looking for a Sheltering and Outreach Project Operations Manager for a frontline role with people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver.

    The Sheltering and Outreach Project Operations Manager (POM) will be responsible for oversight of the sheltering and outreach continuum, ensuring effective tenant, shelter guest, and participant relations.

    This role requires regular hours worked on site in the specifically assigned projects, as well as response to emergent situation as needed.

    New Fountain Shelter:
    Responsible for communicating job expectations, training, mentoring, coaching and developing staff. Provides work direction, assignment of duties and conducts regular employee evaluations. Strong knowledge of and compliance with the collective agreements, OH&S and all other employee policies and procedures.
    Responsible for staff timesheet punches and shift adjustments, filling schedule vacancies and overseeing last-minute shift coverage.
    Monitors work performance.
    Responsible for the effective and supportive communication between staff, shelter guests, community agencies, and service providers.
    Initiates a coordinated response in crisis situations and immediately notifies senior management.

    Ensures the shelters are consistently well-maintained and works with the maintenance team and building staff across the Vancouver continuum to achieve the highest standards of building conditions in terms of home support and pest control, utilizing both internal and external resources for best results.

    Ensures Violence Risk Assessments are complete and up to date.
    Oversees specific project budgets, performing variance analysis, and reporting to senior management.
    Prepares assigned shelter sites for City of Vancouver fire inspections.

    Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area with five to seven years' management experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Knowledge of budget management.
    A valid BC Driver's License is considered an asset.
    Experience of home support and pest control certifications are considered as assets.
    Full-time, permanent.
    50 per hour.
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 2 pm – 12 am.
    Extended health and dental care, life and disability insurance. Pension.
