    About the Job

    Searidge is currently recruiting a Platform Engineer with a strong background in system architecture design and a deep understanding of infrastructure orchestration. Reporting to the Head of Platform & Products, the successful candidate will be pivotal in designing, maintaining and guiding Searidge's digital platform. This role will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our products and platform.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with Searidge project and software teams to define functional and non-functional requirements at the software and infrastructure levels.
    • Work closely with software testers to ensure thorough verification and validation of software and infrastructure components.
    • Utilize tools and methodologies such as Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes to architect high- and low-level components and subsystems of the platform.
    • Document decisions and specifications, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the design of Searidge products and platform to enhance security, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software developers, testers, and project delivery teams.
    • Enforce consistent design patterns and specifications across software and subsystems.
    • Communicate platform concepts and guidelines effectively through documentation and presentations.
    • Review and approve platform architectural changes.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
    • 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing software applications with a focus on infrastructure and platform architecture.
    • Proficiency in development tooling and platforms.
    • Strong understanding of software and infrastructure design principles.
    • Extensive experience with Helm, Kubernetes and containerization.
    • Extensive experience with Message Queues, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
    • Extensive experience with Message Queues, REST APIs, and API architecture.
    • Experience with AWS services such as S3, EKS, EC2, Fargate and Lambda.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of real-time applications, web applications, APIs, and cybersecurity.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • General understanding of software quality assurance principles.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on system scalability and reliability.
    • Understanding of Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu) systems.
    • Must be a team player with a willingness to learn and adapt.

    Bonus Qualifications

    • Experience with coding languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, and React.
    • Experience developing frontend and backend applications.
    • Understanding of cybersecurity threats, solutions, and best practices.
    • Familiarity with additional languages besides English.
