- Prepare equipment for light maintenance work; complete the work as required.
- Prepare work orders, hot work, and fresh air permits.
- Assist senior facilities technicians on complex tasks as an apprentice, e.g. the planned shutdown of a unit.
- Perform routine tasks under the guidance of a senior facility technician, e.g. monitor levels, temperatures, and pressures within various units to ensure equipment is functioning at peak efficiency.
- Perform general refinery technician duties as required to learn refinery processes.
- Collect samples, monitor, and test products to ensure quality meets required specifications.
- Actively participate in housekeeping activities.
- Ability to think, solve problems, and troubleshoot issues within process operations.
- Strong Communication skills is critical
- Able to bend, stoop, crawl, lift up to 40lbs, enter confined spaces, and climb ladders up to 50 feet.
- Post-secondary education in Process Controls, Process Engineering, Engineering Technology, apprenticeship in a Trade or technical role.
- Mechanical background and aptitude.
- 3+ years of work experience.
